Merrifield Animal Hospital's Dedicated Team
Our team of caring support professionals is devoted to you and your pet!
Jackie — Head Receptionist
Jackie joined the Merrifield Animal Hospital team in the fall of 2013. You'll often see her welcoming face at the front desk, but because she came to us as a trained veterinary assistant, you might spot her in the exam room, too. Jackie has a special attachment to kittens. Some even call her the "Cat Whisperer."
Jackie resides in Gainesville with her husband, young daughter, and her three cats — Dexter, Babygirl, and Olivia. Jackie holds an Associate's Degree in Business Administration and is currently working on obtaining her Bachelor's Degree. In her free time, Jackie enjoys reading and spending time with her family, who all root for the Indianapolis Colts during football season.
Brittany — Lead Veterinary Technician
Brittany is a Licensed Veterinary Technician at Merrifield Animal Hospital, first joining our team as a veterinary assistant in 2007. She graduated from the vet tech program at Wilson College in 2009 and earned her LVT license soon after. Brittany, who has always been interested in wildlife and conservation medicine, has a particular love for behavior and training. Along with her valuable help during appointments and surgeries, she also is involved in inventory ordering and assistant training.
Brittany lives with her three dogs, Roscoe, Bealie, and Stuart, as well as a cat named Jeeves. In her free time, she enjoys spending time outdoors, running, and horseback riding.
Daisy — Veterinary Technician
Daisy has been with Merrifield Animal Hospital since the summer of 2006. She is hoping to attend graduate school for biology or possibly veterinary medicine. She currently cares for two goldfish named Willy Wonka and William the Conqueror, a blue crawfish named Scooter, and a sweet little gerbil that goes by Avogadro.
Outside of the hospital, Daisy enjoys singing with a local community choir, Choralis. In addition to her time as a veterinary assistant, she can also be found serenading the boarding pets with her music, which they find quite calming.
